Many people feel that the Esten Kings where a unified society, to the tallest trees to the deepest rocks Esten are one family, is the saying. But it is a saying brought forth by a dream, a dream broken by the reality of the past. After the Bellringer crusades so much of the Esten Kings histories were lost, or seluced away in the halls of the tested or other collectors. Here is but one legend that is known by the Houses of Montimer.
Before the Esten Kings, there were just tribes of Esten. They in their family groups had kept lore from the old gods, and each touched the land of Water and Stone in their own way. Until the Analaglassi, while some Esten had mastered the Trees, , Stone, Water, and the light. The Analaglassi had found a matterial unlike anyother. It was all in one. It was hard like a stone, had waves in it like water, and shone the light clearer then any lake.
Master of all Servant of none the Angalaglassi, rose becoming the first high kings of the Esten people, all other tribes became kings underthem, united for the first time under the Obsidian throne. In the jungles they ruled from, where the old gods walked among the follage. It seemed right for a time, until the Angalaglassi looked too deep in to the refelctions. These refections where not them, in the here and now, but refelctions of the old incarnations. These spirits hungered for the desire to walk again, to breathe the air, and they promised much to the Angalaglassi.
The magics they had awakned the great beasts of times lost, and let them rome, it opened up the magic of the lay lines. But all of these things had a cost, for each secret whispered from the refecltions, they had a tighter grip on this world. One night when the spheres where away. The spirits from another time struck. They stole the bodies of the Angalaglassi, and begain to wage war on the Esten. Riding great beasts, and using the magic of times gone by the Esten kings fought bravely but begain to lose the war.
Until House Oquil came up with an answer, use the refections against them, allow their fallen brothers in the Angalaglassi fight spiritualy while the Esten Kings fought physically. With this they started having major successes, by the time the spirits had realized that covering their faces made them immune to the their enslaved Angalaglassi spirits, the war was almost over.
The great cities of the Angalaglassi were left to be retaken by the jungle, their secrets and their magics protected by the monsters the they let lose on the world. All until, Ethan Sedi gave the land as a promise, to the saltblood captians..
