¶ History:¶ YouthBorn in 171 in Windbreak, she is the only surviving child of Kincaid Silverridge and Ursula Henge-Silverridge, she was raised by her adoring, but overprotective parents. Having lost so many children, Siobhán was the only one of their many pregnancies to not only come to term, but survive into adulthood. As a result, Siobhán grew close to her cousins as her playmates and “siblings”, particularly her older cousins Caden and Lyla, who were ever at Windbreak. Her family typically stayed to Windbreak, as her father did his duty to her grandfather, Duke Malcolm Silverridge, but they would occasionally summer in Deerholt with the noble families there, particularly her aunt, Hailey Silverridge-Reinhardt and her family. Siobhán was quite close to her aunt, who she is similar to in personality, and it is through her aunt that she began her first lessons in how to charm and befriend those who could be influential and beneficial to the family. It is through her that she had her first lessons in politics and the family legends. In her eighth year, while her family was on holiday in Deerholt, Siobhán went out on a picnic with her aunt and a servant, when a sudden storm came upon them. Hailey hustled the children back, but too late, they were accosted by the Kanya. They demanded back something they felt was stolen, but Hailey refused. Siobhán fled with the servant girl, hiding as the Kanya attacked the village, burning buildings and slaughtering nobles, looking for Hailey and Ursula specifically. They managed to her beloved aunt, much to Siobhán's horror, and nearly killed her mother, before Siobhán screamed. In that moment, the magical aura that had surrounded her mother transferred to Siobhán, who leapt from her hiding place and ran to her mother. They were nearly killed, before her father, Kincaid, and her uncle, Karl, rode in and rescued them all. As she fled, the Bellringer Tower exploded, marking an end to Siobhán's idyllic childhood. The experience so traumatized Siobhán that she blocked much of it out of her memory. She never spoke of Hailey's death, seeming to have forgotten it, and didn't remember most of the details of the attack, including how her mother nearly died protecting to her. She certainly did not remember the Kanya and the violence they committed. She was so traumatized she was near catatonic for weeks and was not allowed to the state funeral of her aunt. All she saw was the loading of Hailey's body onto the royal barge, taken off to be buried elsewhere. For many weeks she was unresponsive, until slowly she began to come out of her trauma, thanks in part to her cousins Lyla and Caden. It took her parents many months to recover from the attacks, and even then they treated their daughter with care, fearing her fragility. Already overprotective, they became even more so, and Siobhán was not allowed to leave the city. For ten years she lived in the Windbreak Keep, growing up with her cousins, including now her younger cousin, Carrick, the heir to the ducal throne. ¶ AdolescenceAs a teenager, Siobhan grew to be lovely, charming, and spirited. Having never forgotten her Aunt Hailey's lessons, she turned her focus to study the art of manners, charm, and politics at the knee of her Uncle Connor, now the duke, and her aunt, Merida, his wife. Unaware of her mother's warrior past, her parents encouraged her on this path, believing that as the only daughter of the youngest son of a duke, she would need her skills to make a decent marriage that would benefit the family. As she never left Windbreak after the trauma of Deerholt, she mainly tended to keep to Windbreak, befriending the random Ramirez captains who would come in port, and getting into mischief with her Silverridge cousins. On occasion when her Henge family would visit, she would also include her cousin, Amond, in the adventures, which built a bond between her and her Henge relations. She is still quite close to Amond, though she is not as close to his younger siblings. ¶ AdulthoodAs a young woman of 18, Siobhán was deemed old enough to finally take part in the business of House Silverridge, in part due to the rather loud complaints of her uncle, Sean Henge. When he noted with some asperity that Duke Connor was eager to risk the lives of their children, but not the young people of his own house, he decided to send his heir, Carrick, on a tour of the Silverridge lands, sending his bastard son and nieces with him. Together, the group left for Deerholt, the site of Siobhán's trauma all those years ago. She did not go into the city as they, along with a cadre led by Peacekeeper Louis Covingguard, freed the city of bandits. Throughout their journey of the Silverridge lands, Siobhán attempted to use her skills at diplomacy to smooth over the more edgy aspects of issues between the houses under Duke Connor's control and his heir. Carrick's grand tour revealed the deep worry of the lords, particularly her uncle, Sean, with their future duke, especially regarding his competency. On their return to Windbreak, they returned to Deerholt to visit their great-uncle, O'rhi, and as they were leaving his home in the village, Siobhán was attacked with a rope of smoke, nearly hung as the Kanya reappeared, looking for Siobhán. Lyla, far-seeing and skilled with the bow, freed her cousin, but the Kanya began to intrude once more into Siobhán's life, even though she barely remembered what happened in her past. Reconnecting to her uncle, Karl, and cousin, Hans, on their return to Windbreak she spoke up for her cousin, Hans, as being worthy to step up and help protect Windbreak while Duke Connor took his court to Pearstone for the war conclave. Siobhán shined at the social events of the conclave, notably making her presence known at the Duchesse's tea, and in doing so managed to secure an engagement with no less than Duke Timothy Whitestar. The war found Siobhán at a loss. As she abhors violence, and has shied away from all weapons training, thanks in part to her childhood trauma, she proved herself useless in a fight, which was proven out when she was severely wounded in a surprise attack by Samson Krieg. She survived, however, keeping the details from Duke Timothy, aware of how he had already lost one fiancee long ago. The decision was made for Siobhán to stay behind during the war, where she worked with local leaders to try and help refugees, and tried to build relationships with the people of Whitestar, who looked resentfully on a Silverridge lady attempting to marry their duke.
